Zofia Kulik, “All the Missiles Are One Missile”

Photomontage using combination print. The composition is made through repeated imprinting of one or more negatives on an appropriately masked paper. Zofia Kulik’s collages are complex visual texts. Each carries a message that has been carefully devised and executed.

Chanel perfume bottle designed by Lou Doufman

The set consists of a glass bottle and the original Chanel No 5 cardboard perfume box. The bottle is made of crystal glass, in the form of a flattened rectangular decanter, with a bevelled crystal stopper.

Guerlain perfume bottle in a case

The set consists of a crystal perfume bottle with a stopper and a cardboard case. The bottle comes in the form of a bulky decanter similar in shape to to a rectangular prism, with volutes facing downwards at its neck. The stopper is polished, in the shape of a leaf, a spade from a pack of playing cards. A round paper label with the name “MITSOJKO” is set on one of the sides of the bottle, against the background formed by an ornamentation composed of a pattern of red floral tendrils.

Toiletries

The set of toilet accessories consists of: a folding razor, a brush, a folding knife, a spoon and two spatulas for applying creams.

“Californian Poppy” bottle and cases

A set of two cardboard cases and a glass bottle for “Californian Poppy” perfumes. All the items have been decorated with organic Art Nouveau ornaments.

“Study of a male nude figure” by Zdzisław Jasiński

The presented oil male nude figure was created by Jasiński – then a student at the School of Fine Arts in Kraków – in Florian Cynka’s studio in 1884. He was awarded by the university for this work.

“Naked young man” by Władysław Rossowski

Władysław Rossowski was born in 1857 in Monastyryska near Buczacz (now Buchach in Ukraine). He was a brother of Stanisław Rossowski – a poet, writer and journalist, and father of Tadeusz – a cartoonist and painter. In 1872–1873 he attended Higher Real School in Kraków and in 1873–1874 he studied in Lviv, where he took the matriculation exam. After passing, he studied painting at the School of Fine Arts in Kraków from 1874 to 1884.

A cologne bottle made of milk glass

Made of milk glass, the bottle in the form of a cylindrical decanter with a stopper is decorated with a floral ornamentation and a painted plate which reads “COLOGNE”.

“An anatomical study of a male figure” by Jacek Malczewski

The presented drawing from the collection of the Academy of Fine Arts was awarded by the professors of the School of Fine Arts and was awarded first place by the authorities of the Kraków Society of Friends of Fine Arts, along with a sum of 30 guilders.

Katarzyna Górna, “Fuck me, Fuck you, Peace”

A photographic triptych, showing women in different stages of their lives – from youth, through maturity to old age. The adopted poses as well as the compositions with a static, altar-like quality point to the inspiration by Christian iconography, recurrent in the artist’s work. The work deals with the relationship between age and the attitude to life. A young woman wants to be loved, a mature woman is fed up with everything and the old woman craves peace.

“Chypre” perfume bottles in a cardboard case

The cuboidal cardboard case is covered with imitation leather and comes with a lid. The size of the case is matched to three perfume bottles. The three bottles are shaped like cuboidal decanters, with stoppers made of colourless glass.

Roger&Gallet perfume case

The cardboard case for a perfume bottle is cuboid shaped with bevelled corners. The side walls of the case have been tinted into a colour imitating gold and decorated at the top and bottom with thin strips of an ornament composed of golden leaves on a cobalt background.

Snuffbox in the shape of a heart

The heart-shaped snuffbox has been made from bovine bone. The lid of the snuffbox is mounted on metal hinges. Around the body and on the lid, rivets and traces of folding/securing the bone plates to the body of the container are visible.

Apothecary jar for the dissected human skull

Essence Naïs perfume in a case

A glass perfume bottle with an elongated neck and a polished glass stopper. On the bottle, there is a paper label in the form of a cartouche with a golden Régence ornament on a blue background and a beige field with a colourful graphic and inscriptions.

Perfume bottle with a coat of arms

The glass perfume bottle has a form similar to a cone. The wide bottom of the vessel’s body transitions to the narrow upper part in a straight line. Under the neck of the bottle, there is a wide bevelled strip of concavity.

Biedermeier-style glass perfume bottle

This glass perfume bottle takes the form of a bulky cuboid decanter with a short neck and a stopper. The body of the vessel is bevelled, with concavities at the corners.

“Parfum King Cairo” perfume bottle

This glass perfume bottle takes the form of a rectangular vial with a metal cap. The sides of the bottle are ornamented with a painted abstract decoration. On the main side, a colourful representation of an ancient Egyptian deity is painted.

“Naked young man” by Stanisław Radziejowski

Stanisław Józef Rafał Dominik Radziejowski was born to a landowning family in Zegartowice near Wieliczka. He probably started studying at the School of Fine Arts in Kraków in the academic year 1874/1875 and he is thought to have only studied for one year. However, this information has not been confirmed. Certainly, Radziejowski studied at the School of Fine Arts during the period 1880–1885 and 1888–1891 in the composition department of Jan Matejko. During his studies, he received several awards...

“Study of a male figure” by Stanisław Bieńkiewicz

Stanisław Bieńkiewicz (1855–after 1930) in 1871–1880 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under the direction of Jan Matejko. During the period 1889–1890, together with Józef Mehoffer and Stanisław Wyspiański, he worked on a polychrome of Mariacki Church in Kraków. Bieńkiewicz painted portraits, landscapes, historical, genre and religious scenes.
