Perfume bottle with a chain

Crystal perfume bottle with a silver basket

The perfume bottle has the form of a flattened sphere and is made of crystal glass. The upper half of the vessel is generously decorated with precise geometric cuts.

Gilded powder packaging

The round pouncet-box is made of cardboard with pressed decorations on the whole surface. The side walls are decorated with a kind of cymatium.

Eau de toilette bottle

A perfume bottle in the form of a cuboidal crystal glass decanter with a bevelled glass stopper. The neck of the vessel is elongated, decorated with a flange and a strip of a label with an illegible inscription.

Casket containing a set of three porcelain perfume bottles

This wooden casket with a lock is made of dark wood wrought using the technique of intarsia and was used to store three small porcelain bottles. The vessels have the form of decanters imitating decorative pillows with fringes.

Black-figure vessel for incense

The vessel for incense has a wide body which turns into a narrow base at the bottom. The upper part of the vessel is open, without any cover. Two circular handles have been placed at the sides of the vessel.

Red-figure pottery vessel for balm

The clay vessel has a squat body, narrowing at the bottom and situated on a thin base. The neck of the vessel is wide and ends with a cavitied flange. The body has been decorated with a meander and a winged figure with oblong objects in its hands, bent over the capital of an Ionic column. The decorations have been made in accordance with Greek black-figure pottery.

Vessels for fragrant substances

The presented vessels have the shape of small amphoras and are made of clay. The former is decorated with primitive plant patterns and the lug has been, it seems, knocked off, with the body extending at the top. The latter vessel has a pair of lugs and a body extending at the bottom, on which a relief representation of two figures occupied by an object is visible. The irregularities in the shape of the vessels and their primitive ornamentation indicate the early period of their creation and the simple craftsmanly workshop.

The flat perfume bottle has been made of gilded metal. The body of the vessel narrows down slightly towards the bottom. The pouncet-box has been made of gilded metal. The walls of the pouncet-box have been decorated on their entire surfaces – except for the edges – using blue enamel.

Miniature bottles

The bottles have been made of colourless glass. The first one is in the shape of a heart and is bevelled at the edges.

Miniature perfume bottles

The two perfume containers have the form of small bottles with round shapes and flattened bodies. This is an example of personalized perfume containers belonging to a specific person with the initials C.D., of aristocratic origin, as evidenced by a count’s crown incorporated into the upper part of the initial.

Perfume bottles with floral motives

The perfume bottle made of milk glass has the form of a decanter with an elongated neck. The body of the vessel, extending at the top, smoothly runs into a neck topped by a flange, on which triple profiling in the form of rings is visible.

Essence Naïs perfume in a case

A glass perfume bottle with an elongated neck and a polished glass stopper. On the bottle, there is a paper label in the form of a cartouche with a golden Régence ornament on a blue background and a beige field with a colourful graphic and inscriptions.

Ring with rubies and pearls

The presented silver ring is studded with rubies and pearls. The silver parts have been made in the round and using the technique of openwork, with the ornamentation consisting of vegetal tendrils.

Powder by L.T. Piver

The round pouncet-box intended for storing powder has been made of cardboard. The entire surface of the pouncet-box is richly decorated with various ornaments in a colour imitating gold on a red background.

“Californian Poppy” bottle and cases

A set of two cardboard cases and a glass bottle for “Californian Poppy” perfumes. All the items have been decorated with organic Art Nouveau ornaments.

Roger&Gallet perfume case

The cardboard case for a perfume bottle is cuboid shaped with bevelled corners. The side walls of the case have been tinted into a colour imitating gold and decorated at the top and bottom with thin strips of an ornament composed of golden leaves on a cobalt background.

COTY powder packaging

A round metal (?) pouncet-box covered in its entirety with a pattern composed of powder brushes on a brick-coloured background. The paintbrush holders were moulded to form a convexity. The lid is slightly convex.
