A sculpture which was probably the central part of a winged altarpiece at first. There is a sitting Madonna on the right, holding a naked Infant Jesus in her lap. She is facing three Magi; two of them are standing while the third one is kneeling and touching the Infant Jesus’s hand. St. Joseph is standing behind Mary. In the upper part, against a background of a conventional landscape, we can see a retinue of Magi as well as a shepherd grazing sheep. In the bottom right corner a modern cartouche with the coat of arms of the Del Pace family was placed.
The presented bas-relief is related to the altarpiece in St. Mary’s Church and constitutes a valuable example of a soft, realistic style just before the expressive style of Veit Stoss.
