This early form of the teapot, the design of which is ascribed to Johann Jakob Irminger, was amended by a painted decoration outside the factory more than twenty years after the vessel had been finished. The linear, graphical method of painting was ascribed to Christian Daniel Buschow, who operated in Bayreuth.

The belly of the teapot is in the shape of a flattened ball with a high-curved lid. It has a handle in the form of a small bump and a tubular spout. There is a sculpted ornament in the form of a mascaron at the base of the spout, and a decoration of leaves at the base of the handle. The belly of the teapot is covered with a colourful depiction of a pair of Chinese people standing among shrubs in bloom. On the other side, there is a landscape decoration with an arbour, a small bridge and bushes. The edge of the spout and the lid are decorated with an ornamentation of golden lace. A small metal chain with a plug joins the handle to the lid and the spout.
