moreThe eight-branched candelabrum made in honour of the Hanukkah festival – the victorious Maccabean Revolt. The festival – recorded in the books of Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) – is over 2,000 years old. The celebrations start on the 25th day of the month Kislev and last until the second day of the month Tevet [November, December]. During this holiday, the eldest man in the family, with the participation of the whole family, lights one candle every night for eight days using a special candle – the shamash. The candelabrum is placed in the window.
