This is a miner's oil lamp with a wick. In the second half of the eighteenth century, miners began using tin oil lamps, which were mostly fuelled by oil mixed with kerosene. The lamp consisted of: a futrol (a little basket for an oil container), a wick half-bushing, a shift, and charcoal. The lamp in the collection of the Regional Museum in Olkusz comes from one of the Olkusz mines. It was found during work in old mining excavations, and then donated to the museum by the employees of ZGH “Bolesław” in Bukowno.
