His designs were executed by Wanda Grottowa's Artistic Kilim Studio in Kraków.
The fabric in question can be seen at the Karol Szymanowski Museum at the studio of the “Atma” Villa in Zakopane. However, it was not an original part of the villa during Karol Szymanowski's time.

Kilim rug as an element of national art… most often stolen

In the inter-war period, the art of kilim making was at its prime. The achievements of Polish artists gained recognition at the Paris International Decorative Art Show in 1925. On the one hand, it was widely believed that it was necessary to draw on folk culture and, on the other, creatively process the patterns.

In the inter-war period, the art of kilim making was at its prime. The achievements of Polish artists gained recognition at the Paris International Decorative Art Show in 1925. On the one hand, it was widely believed that it was necessary to draw on folk culture and, on the other, creatively process the patterns. The fame that the kilims gained translated into the amount of kilims produced and commissioned. The art of weaving beautifully decorated fabrics came to be a national art; kilims were designed by the best artists of the time.
This success was consolidated by the National Show held in Poznań in 1929. The show showcased the artistic, industrial and scientific achievements of the Second Republic of Poland, 10 years after having regained its independence. The National Show drew as many as 4.5 million visitors! Some of the works shown included a kilim designed by Bogusław Treter and made in one of the best known studios: Wanda Grottowa’s Artistic Kilim Studio in Kraków. Additionally, the workshops organised in Zakopane by the “Kilim” Association were equally popular. At that time, ornamented fabrics were also produced at the Warsaw “Ład” Cooperative, whose collaborators included, among others, Zofia Stryjeńska.
What were the kilims designed by Polish designers like? Ornamentation of the works was based on geometric and floral patterns, their colours ranging between strong contrastive colours and subtle pastels.
What, perhaps, best evidences the value of kilims is the fact that along with the bedding, livestock and small savings, kilims were most often stolen by gangs and thieves in the inter-war period.
