This sculpture made of a single block of wood depicts the Virgin Mary with Child. The sculpture is unique as regards depictions of Madonna with Child in the folk art of the Kurpiowszczyzna region. The Madonna stands upright, wearing a long, flowing dress tied at the waist, her shodden feet protruding from underneath. From the right arm, a coat-tail is drooping. The head and back are covered by long hair, with a zigzag on the sides. The Madonna's head is decorated with a massive crown. The Madonna's Child, resting on her left shoulder, wears a long dress. His head, with shoulder-length hair, is surrounded by a vertical, open aureole. In the right hand of the Child, there is a hollow which once held an attribute that has since been lost. Both figures are disproportionate, with large oval heads.
