moreThe aviation eagle refers to the eagles intended for airmen (based on the military eagle, with stylised Hussar wings). Extruded from alpaca metal sheet with a hook made separately. It differs from eagles in some details — a bent neck, oversized crown, the appearance of rosettes on the amazon shield. The shield's background is ribbed (instead of grained), like on embroidered eagles. These differences indicate that it was not a production for the army, but it is a veteran's item. Made after 1945, probably in Great Britain, for the needs of emigres.
